You can plan beach-focused days around walking from the Bungalows at Seagrove, but a car is useful for arrival, groceries and exploring farther along 30A. Whether you need one during your stay depends on your group, what you are carrying and how much exploring you want to do.
When walking makes sense
Nearby public beach access makes walking a practical option for many guests. Use the designated public entrance and allow extra time for crossings, children and beach gear. A short outing with a light bag feels different from carrying a cooler and several chairs on a hot afternoon.
When bikes may help
Guests have enjoyed renting bikes to explore the area. Check the current route, distance, rental terms and equipment before deciding a ride suits everyone in your group. Choose an appropriate bike and helmet, and confirm the rules for any electric bike. Bikes and golf carts are not included amenities at either bungalow.
When a car is useful
- Airport transfers or arriving with luggage.
- Larger grocery trips and supplies for a longer stay.
- Rainy days or outings that would be uncomfortable on foot.
- Exploring other 30A communities with young children or several stops planned.
Before paying for a golf cart, confirm where it may be driven and parked, whether it suits your intended route, and what the rental company includes. A cart should not be treated as a substitute for checking current road and community rules.
Parking at the bungalows
Community parking is free and first come, first served. The Coastal Designer (144) allows up to two spaces. Follow the arrival instructions for your chosen home and do not park on the street, grass or neighboring property.
Make the decision around your itinerary
List your arrival plan, grocery stop and two or three outings first. That will tell you more than a general promise that the area is “walkable.” Check current directions for each destination and build in a comfortable margin.
